Most repair calls we take are on systems we did not install, and the failures are predictable enough to diagnose over the phone about half the time. A motor that stalls part way. A remote that has lost its pairing after a battery change. A track packed with grit and leaf litter so the mesh binds. Fabric torn along one edge because it was left down through a storm.

What Gets Fixed and What Does Not

Motors, remotes, switches, tracks and fabric are all normally repairable or replaceable. What is not always available is parts for obsolete systems, and this is where we would rather be blunt: if a system is out of production and the failed component is proprietary, a repair may buy you a season at a cost that would have gone a long way toward a replacement.

We will say that plainly rather than take the repair. Where a rebuild is the answer, the existing tracks and mounting can sometimes be reused. Fabric-only failures are often a mesh replacement, control faults are motor work, and full replacements become a standard install.
